An illegal immigrant who had access to areas at Rocky Mountain Arsenal where chemicals and munitions were stored has pleaded guilty to making a false claim of citizenship.

In exchange for his guilty plea, prosecutors agreed to drop ten other counts against Juan S. Stamatio-Martinez. Those included misusing a Social Security number, making false statements, perjury and misusing documents.

U.S. District Judge Robert E. Blackburn accepted the plea on Friday and ordered Stamatio to return for sentencing in February.

Immigration and Naturalization Service authorities said Stamatio's case became a national security concern because his bogus claims allowed him to obtain jobs in sensitive areas.

He was indicted in July.
