Tancredo Helping Sick Immigrant

Colorado Representative Tom Tancredo says he will help raise money for a five year old Mexican boy with leukemia, who is in the country illegally. Tancredo is an outspoken advocate for stricter immigration laws. He recently called for the deportation of Jesus Apodaca, an
undocumented Mexican honors student seeking financial help in
Colorado.

Tancredo says he will join Peter Boyles, a talk-radio host with KHOW A.M., for an on-air fundraiser Wednesday morning. They will try to help Oscar Hernandez, who needs a $314,000 bone marrow transplant to save his life.

Tancredo could not be reached by phone. His spokeswoman is Lara
Kennedy. She says Tancredo's position on illegal immigration is
separate from his desire to help the sick child.
