After a mild Saturday, temperatures to finish the weekend will be MUCH colder! A system to our west pushes into SE Colorado overnight. Snow showers will be possible by early Sunday morning across the I-25 corridor with a change to rain and snow showers through the afternoon. Accumulation should be minimal as most moisture looks to be light and temperatures will warm into the upper 30s and 40s through the afternoon. The main impact will be the cold along with winds gusting up to 40 mph at times. Click on the 'Weather' tab for more...
An Alamosa man is charged with murder in connection with the death of his 16-month-old son.
Rio Grande County prosecutors charged 33-year-old Michael Jim Medina Monday with first-degree murder in the death of Degan Medina.
Authorities found the toddler's body May 21st in Monte Vista. Passers-by reported seeing a man trying to hide a baby near sewage lagoons.
An autopsy was conducted in Colorado Springs to determine the cause of death, but results haven't been released.
Medina is to be advised of the charges against him July 19th.
Sheriff Brian Norton says a gag order requested by the public defender's office bars him from discussing the case or the suspect.
Medina is also suspected in the 1996 disappearance of Kimberly Greene of Aurora.
