It's a case of dog-napping. A 9-week-old Chihuahua-Pug mix, aka a Chug, was taken from the Le Pooch Connection off of Academy near Union Monday afternoon.
"They were checking out the puppies and asking questions," said Le Pooch owner, Liza Malloy about the couple who was last seen petting the Chug.
"At one point, I went to clean up puppy messes and they yelled goodbye. I peaked my head out to say goodbye. A few minutes later, I walked by the play pen and then noticed the Chug was gone."
"It makes me nervous. They don't know if the dog has had shots, if he needs a special diet. I’m concerned if they are willing to a steal dog, will they take care of it?"
Malloy said since the $500 Chug disappeared, she’s had trouble sleeping. This is the second puppy to be taken from the store in a year.
She described the couple as a woman in her 20's, about 5’7”, light brown hair with glasses. The man wasn't much taller. He has a stocky build and facial hair.
