Buffer Zone

Fort Carson commanders are asking Pueblo County officials to maintain a buffer zone around the post's eastern perimeter.

Barring development within a one or two mile buffer zone would reduce the risk of neighbors complaining about noise and dust during training exercises.

Colorado Michael Resty said residential development closer than that also could result in lights shining on training areas. That would prevent soldiers from training with night-vision goggles.
