A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. Several inches of accumulation will be possible in areas where these bands develop. For more information click the ‘Weather’ tab...
A Colorado Springs man is being held on $400,000 dollars bond after a Massachusetts judge ordered a new trial on murder charges.
Alexander Pring-Wilson was convicted of stabbing 18-year-old Michael Colono to death outside a Cambridge pizzeria on April 12th, 2003.
A judge sentenced Pring-Wilson to six-to-eight years in prison. But another judge vacated that conviction last week and ordered a new trial -- saying Pring-Wilson should've been allowed to admit evidence of Colono's allegedly violent past.
That could bolster Pring-Wilson claim that the stabbing was an act of self-defense.
Defense attorneys asked for his release Monday, but the court ordered bond instead.
The judge denied requests that Pring-Wilson be released on personal recognizance and allowed to live in Colorado with his family.
Pring-Wilson is a 2000 graduate of Colorado College in Colorado Springs, and the son of two prominent Colorado attorneys.
Conditions of bail prevent him from leaving Massachusetts without permission, and restrict him to his home through use of an electronic monitoring device.
