After a mild Saturday, temperatures to finish the weekend will be MUCH colder! A system to our west pushes into SE Colorado overnight. Snow showers will be possible by early Sunday morning across the I-25 corridor with a change to rain and snow showers through the afternoon. Accumulation should be minimal as most moisture looks to be light and temperatures will warm into the upper 30s and 40s through the afternoon. Denver Broncos coach Mike Shanahan says no matter how healthy quarterback Brian Griese is Sunday, backup Steve Beuerlein will get the start against Arizona.
Griese appeared shaken and downcast today when talking with reporters after practice.
He says he feels uncertain about his future with Denver after Shanahan told him he wouldn't start on Sunday.
Griese re-injured his left knee in the second quarter last weekend against Oakland.
That 28-to-16 loss dropped Griese's career record to 26-and-25 and increased the chances of Denver missing the playoffs for the third time in his four years as the starter.
After a shaky 2001 season that saw Griese threw 19 interceptions, he's been inconsistent this year.
He's been plagued by injuries and mistakes in the last half of the season.
Griese says he didn't participate in practice Wednesday, but he plans to test his knee Thursday.
