Moderate snow continues to fall for some areas of northern El Paso and Teller Counties, accumulating in the grass and yards. Meanwhile, in the plains and along the southern I-25 stretch, light rain/snow mix continues. Take it slow on the roadways - due to VERY strong winds, we are seeing blowing dirt and snow (depending on the region), which is tremendously reducing visibility. The attorney for a former Air Force Academy cadet allegedly raped by an officer calls it "a travesty and a dark day."
That's after a military judge Friday halted the rape trial of First Lieutenant Joseph Harding at Randolph Air Force Base, near San Antonio.
The decision came after the cadet's civilian rape counselor Jennifer Bier continued to refuse to hand over records of their conversations.
However, Harding's court-martial on a charge of indecent assault against another cadet will proceed.
The judge didn't elaborate on his ruling.
The ruling was in response to a defense motion to stop the trial. Defense attorney David Sheldon said access to the counselor's records were necessary for a fair trial.
