There was a tragedy on Pikes Peak Tuesday morning during practice for the hill climb.

A race official was killed in an accident with one the competitors on the summit. Henry Bresciani was waving the finish flag during Tuesday morning's practice session when he was struck by a sprint car driven by Jay Stewart of Peyton. Emergency crews could not save the 67-year-old volunteer.

It's the second fatality on the peak in the last four years.
