The Pikes Peak Region continues to see both light rain and snow, even a mix in some places so far in the early afternoon hours. Eventually this afternoon, the rain will change all into snow for the Pikes Peak region, while areas to the south and east start picking up on rain. By the overnight hours, all will be in the snow category. This looks to end by the early morning hours on Sunday. The Air Force is reviewing the conduct of the Number two officer at the Air Force Academy.
In a letter dated June 7th, acting Air Force Secretary Michael Dominguez said the Air Force's inspector general is investigating the conduct of Brigadier General Johnny Weida, the academy commandant.
Both Air Force and Academy officials declined comment on the investigation. The letter did not specify the conduct that was being investigated.
Weida has been criticized for sending out an e-mail promoting National Prayer Day and for a memo telling cadets they are accountable first to their God.
Academy Superintendent Lieutenant General John Rosa has said he spoke to Weida, a self-described born again Christian, about both instances and Weida recognized they were mistakes.
