A 22-year-old snowboarder from Maryland died after he collapsed at the Keystone ski area. The man was carrying his snowboard and hiking with friends to the bowls in the resort's Outback area when he collapsed. His friends summoned members of the ski patrol. They administered emergency medical treatment until a Flight for Life helicopter arrived and transported the man to the Keystone Medical Center. The man was pronounced dead at the medical center just after one o'clock this afternoon. The Summit County Coroner's Office is investigating the cause of the man's death. His name and hometown have not been released.
