Bagel Prank

Police in Fountain are trying to figure out who left eight bagel slices in the yard of a city councilman facing a recall election next month.

Police say bagels with messages on them such as "Recall Bagel Boy," and "At least it's not crack," were in the yard this week of Councilman Al Lender -- whose grandfather founded Lender's Bagels.

Lender has said he once served time in prison for selling cocaine in Connecticut.

Police are sending the bagels to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation for testing.

Lender says his dog became sick after eating one.

Lender says political opponent and Planning Commissioner Michael Hudgins might be involved, but Hudgins says he doesn't know anything about the bagels.
