Water Goal Met

(Colorado Springs-AP) -- Water customers have met Colorado
Springs Utilities' goal of saving three-point-four billion
gallons of water by the end of the year.

The 2002 Springs Water Saver program had a goal of saving that
amount between May First and December 31st.

Customers met the goal yesterday.

The other goal of the program was for customers to save 20
percent from June Eleventh through October 31st.

Customers saved 18 percent during that time period.

Utilities and cities across the state have restricted outdoor
water use as reservoir levels plummeted amid a drought year.
