Like Mr. Bonds said, this is a longstanding problem that should have been recieving attention for some time. Lamborn was feeling the heat from his forgotten constituents and now is forced to act. I believe Sen. Salazar and Gov. Ritter are more concerned about this crisis then Lamborn, afterall they acted first. Where were you Congressman?

This is not new. For decades they (government entities) have been working to correct this situation. For Mr. Lamborn to demand "immediate" remediation of in excess of a billion gallons contaminated mine water, would be nothing more than jumping on the band wagon to impress constituents. It appears that the water IS being pumped out and treated at a rate of approximately in excess of 50,000 gallons per hour. Please see additional information on the process from the link below. www.mineweb.com/mineweb/view/mineweb/en/page68?oid=47531&sn=Detail Yes, agreed, this is a very serious problem. Hopefully it will resolve without any incident. For an incumbent to attempt to take credit for this solution borders on grandstanding. Adieu
