Dangerous Toys

When you go shopping, you may be looking for toys with a lot of educational value, but consumer groups say some that are simply unsafe.

No doubt it's annoying, but you might not think the Cyclone Fazer and Saber is harmful. In fact, youngsters are attracted to flashing lights and sounds. But consumer groups say it can permanently damage their ears.

The American Academy of Pediatrics says any toy over 85 decibels can actually cause hearing loss. Many toys consistently that registered over 100 decibels.

Other toys that made the list have small parts or can break easily. These should be used under adult supervision to makes sure the pieces aren't breaking off and the toys are in good condition. With little ones, the biggest concern is choking.

Look for small parts that can come off and fit in their mouths.
