A FLASH FLOOD WATCH will go into effect at NOON and last through MIDNIGHT from most of Southern Colorado. Scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms will be more than capable of producing very heavy rain once again. Burn scars and areas that saw heavy rain yesterday will be under the greatest risk for flash flooding. The 11 Breaking Weather Team will be tracking this threat all day for you.
A Pueblo intersection is expected to remain closed for several days after several rail cars filled with grain jumped their tracks early Friday morning.
The accident happened near 29th and Lowell in Pueblo.
Assistant fire Chief Dennis Rosolini says no one was hurt, but the derailment left behind a big mess.
More than 20 cars full of grain spilled all over the tracks and roadways.
But the train avoided a number of nearby homes, as well as a propane tank.
Clean-up crews responded to the scene within a few hours after the crash, but their job is still expected to take a few days.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
