A woman's drink was allegedly drugged while she was on a date with a man she met on-line. She spoke exclusively with 11 News to give us her version of what happened.
We first told you the story Monday night. Fifty-six-year-old Robert Psaty was arrested, accused of slipping Valium into his date's drink.
Psaty's date, Nancy, who asked us not to reveal her last name, said she never thought this would happen to her. She said she trusted him, and they had been chatting for about a month over singlesnet.com.
“In his picture on-line, he had glasses on, a yellow lab sitting next to him. He looked like an all-American guy," said Nancy.
She said she and Psaty were on their first date at a Ruby Tuesday Restaurant in Colorado Springs. She made a quick trip to the salad bar and that's when it happened; "I wasn't there for more than 2-3 minutes."
That's when her waiter, Colt Haugen, claimed he saw the man drop a pill right into Nancy's drink. “I watched him do it, plain as day," said Haugen.
Nancy took a few sips, but then the waiter took away the glass. Police said it tested positive for Diazepam, also known as Valium. "I went home and felt sick. I was probably being paranoid, but I called the hospital, went in, and they found drug Diazepam in my system."
Nancy said she's grateful that the waiter came to the rescue. "If it wasn't for him, I don't know what would have happened. God was looking after me."
Nancy said she has only one question for Psaty. "Do you feel you can't be with a woman unless you drug her?"
Nancy is more cautious now. She says she’ll think twice before she goes to dinner with a stranger again.
"I'm shocked. We’re in Colorado Springs. I’m well-educated and always thought, ‘Oh, I'll know, I can tell a creep from a normal person.’"
Nancy wants to warn women who date on-line to be careful.
Police believe more victims are out there. Nancy hopes her story gives them the courage to come forward.
Psaty is a counselor at Colorado Mental Health Institute in Pueblo and is now on paid administrative leave pending the investigation.

I would like to point something out. This woman didn't CLAIM anything. The man was SEEN drugging her drink, then the police TESTED the drink and found Valium in it. Saying "she claims" he drugged her is just turning it around to make her sound less credible. And to Jennifer, how is it her fault he decided to do something illegal? And millions of people meet online everyday through these sites. They went to a FAMILY RESTAURANT. He is the criminal, she did nothing wrong, and deserves no condemnation for it. People need to pull their heads out and blame the person responsible, the person who did something horrible and illegal, and has probably done this before, considering he works at a mental health hospital! How many patients has he roofied?
1) What do you mean "claims"? It's been proven and there was a witness, you don't need a trial. 2) If the guy works in a mental ward then you have to wonder if he's been drugging patients to have sex with them as well. If I were his boss I'd be looking hard at past records.
Theres a lot of crazy people in the world that we cannot trust as it is. Why in the world would you go online to find someone your just asking for it. I'm glad the waiter was in the right place at the right time though but the sittuation could have been prevented. TIP-DONT MEET PEOPLE ONLINE!HELLO!
