A six-year-old boy is dead after drowning in a reservoir behind his Colorado Springs apartment complex.
Police say Michael Oxford walked to the reservoir yesterday to play with three other children, all of whom were younger than seven.
The boy was found about 1-30 p-m floating face down in the pond, which is about the size of a football field on the southeast edge of Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Michael was pronounced dead less than an hour later.
Sergeant Jim Rodgers says there was no adult supervision at the time, and the drowning appears to be an accident.
The children told police they were near the bank dangling their feet in the water when Michael apparently slipped and fell in. The children ran to get adults, who pulled Michael from the water.
