The Pikes Peak Region continues to see both light rain and snow, even a mix in some places so far in the early afternoon hours. Eventually this afternoon, the rain will change all into snow for the Pikes Peak region, while areas to the south and east start picking up on rain. By the overnight hours, all will be in the snow category. This looks to end by the early morning hours on Sunday. Colorado could get an extra $150 million a year over the next four years under a transportation bill that's setting up tough negotiations between the White House and Congress.
The Senate voted 89-to-11 Tuesday in favor of the $295 billion Transportation Equity Act which pays for highway and bridge projects and public transit.
The bill gives Colorado the second-highest highway funding increase in the country, amounting to a 46-percent boost from previous highway bills.
Colorado Republican Senator Wayne Allard says the money is desperately needed to promote economic growth in the state.
The overall measure totals eleven billion dollars more than the one House lawmakers approved. The White House says that's the most it'll accept without a veto.
