Health officials are blaming a New Mexico poultry hatchery for an outbreak of salmonella in Colorado and 4 other states.

There are 9 confirmed cases of the infections, seven of which are in children one year-old and younger.

Affected states also include Kansas, Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.

Symptoms of salmonellosis include diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps. Most people recover without medication or treatment within a week.
