Denver's bomb squad has destroyed a box allegedly containing an explosive device -- carried into a downtown branch of KeyBank Wednesday morning.
Authorities say a man walked into the bank on south Broadway about 9:30 am, and placed a box on the counter.
He then handed a note to a teller indicating the box would blow up.
The suspect fled with an undetermined amount of cash, but left the box behind.
Police spokesman Sonny Jackson says portions of Broadway and Lincoln streets closed as a result of the threat have been reopened.
It's not clear whether the suspect fled on foot or by car.
He's described as a clean-shaven white male, about five-foot-two, 120 pounds, wearing a hat and glasses.
