A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. Several inches of accumulation will be possible in areas where these bands develop. For more information click the ‘Weather’ tab...
A bill that could prevent a private toll road from being built on the Eastern Plains is headed to the state Senate for a vote.
With 275 residents watching and listening at the state Capitol, members of the Senate Transportation Committee backed the measure Tuesday. It says that private toll road companies don't have the power to force people to sell their land.
The man who's trying to gather investors to build the so-called "Super Slab" highway on the Plains stretching from Pueblo to Fort Collins says that would effectively stop his project.
The committee didn't take any testimony from the public because lawmakers are in a rush to get all remaining bills heard before the session must end May 11th. Senator Nancy Spence -- the only senator to vote no -- said the committee should have heard testimony from the state transportation department about its problems with the bill.
