Three Fort Carson soldiers died in an attack on a base in Ramadi, Iraq.
The three were assigned to the Second Brigade Combat Team that went to Iraq from bases in Korea last August, and will be based at Fort Carson when the unit's tour ends this summer.
A Defense Department statement says the three died from either mortar or rocket fire.
Pentagon officials identified the soldiers as 36-year-old Sergeant Angelo Lozada Junior of New York, 24-year-old Sergeant Tromaine Toy Senior of Virginia, and 21-year-old Specialist Randy Stevens of Michigan.
Fifty-four soldiers have died since the unit's deployment last August.
