Wednesday is a day of reflection for Columbine High School and the sixth anniversary of the nation's deadliest school shooting.

No classes were held Wednesday, but teachers were at school for an in-service day.

They observed a moment of silence in memory of the 12 students and one teacher shot to death by two student gunmen on April 20th, 1999.

Columbine Principal Frank DeAngelis will read the names of the victims.

Jefferson County Schools spokesman Rick Kaufman says Wednesday marked an opportunity for teachers not only to remember those who died, but also to hope for the future.

The shooters killed themselves at the end of their attack.
