Hooked - (Stacia Naquin)
Updated: 10/11/2013 - I'm SO CLOSE to being able to do a pull-up. So my trainer introduced something new into my training.
Hunters and anglers would get help to shoulder the cost of wildlife management under a bill approved by Colorado lawmakers. The bill still needs the governor's signature to make it law.
For the first time, non-hunters would have to pay to use state wildlife areas. People would have to buy a wildlife stamp for $5. Revenue will be used to acquire and restore wildlife habitat.
Hunters and anglers also would have to buy stamps when they buy licenses. Gun groups say that's unfair because hunters already have to pay for licenses.
But supporters say the stamps are a good way to spread costs around.
Senior citizens, disabled residents and people under 19 are exempted from the $5 charge.
The bill also increases in-state fishing and hunting fees for the first time in 13 years.
