Help is coming from the Bluegrass State for people in Pueblo who want to see munitions at the chemical depot destroyed.

Kentucky's Senator Mitch McConnell is a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee. He says the Department of Defense should foot the bill to destroy mustard agents stored at the Pueblo Chemical Depot and the Blue Grass Army Depot in Richmond.

Eight hundred thirteen million dollars earmarked for destruction plans have been put on hold as the D.O.D. tries to find a cheaper way to destroy the agents, including moving them to be destroyed somewhere else.

But McConnell and Colorado representatives want the money to go to building destruction plants.

The senate should debate the spending package this week.
