A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. One man is facing charges and a woman is dead after an early morning car chase.
The chase started just after 3-o'clock Monday morning.
Officers were following a car reported stolen.
Police say the driver, 19-year old Barry Walker, took off when they tried to pull him over near Airport road. The chase ended 47-seconds after it started in a crash that killed 44-year old Debra Edwards.
Edwards was traveling east on Galley when she was broadsided by Walker. Friends say Edwards was on her way to her job at Wa-lMart bakery.
Walker faces several charges, including vehicular homicide.
Wal-Mart representatives say the Wal-Mart family is suffering from Edward's death and will have grief counselors on hand to help fellow workers deal with the tragedy.
