Moderate snow continues to fall for some areas of northern El Paso and Teller Counties, accumulating in the grass and yards. Meanwhile, in the plains and along the southern I-25 stretch, light rain/snow mix continues. Take it slow on the roadways - due to VERY strong winds, we are seeing blowing dirt and snow (depending on the region), which is tremendously reducing visibility. An Aurora man who died while snowboarding at the Loveland Ski Area has been identified as 23-year-old Trevor Tompkins.
The Clear Creek County sheriff's office said Tompkins was found
Sunday by Loveland ski patrol, tangled in a boundary-marker rope. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy was scheduled later this week, authorities said. Tompkins' death was the first reported this season at a Colorado ski resort.
