Too Slow?

An advocacy group is saying the state's agency isn't moving fast enough when it comes to processing welfare benefits.

The group, the Colorado Center on Law and Policy, says less than 15 percent of people who had medical emergencies received help within the required 5 days.

Sixty-eight percent of calls about problems with food stamps and other programs were handled in that time period.

The group sued the state last year after problems arose with the new $200 million CBMS welfare system, saying it left thousands without benefits.
