Liquor stores and the beer industry are fighting a legislative proposal to put identification tags on beer kegs.
The proposal is one of several aimed at cracking down on underage binge drinking.
Under the measure, when customers buy a keg of beer, liquor stores would have to write down buyers' names, addresses and dates of birth from their drivers licenses and put an I-D tag on the keg.
The measure has passed the House, but Senator Steve Johnson says the bill is in danger of being killed in the Senate. He is urging supporters to contact their lawmakers.
Opponents argue that the proposal is a public relations ploy in response to a string of high-profile drinking deaths in Colorado and isn't practical.
