Interest in Politics Waning

College professors say that reflects a widespread trend of fewer
students getting involved in politics.
Colorado College Professor Andrew Dunham (DONE'-am) says
political campaigns use more professionals than volunteers these
days.
But he says some students choose not to get involved in politics
because they were turned off by the Clinton-Lewinsky scandals.
Others people say there are just a lot of demands on students'
time these days.
But they say it's not fair to accuse students of not being
engaged. Many get involved in nonpolitical activities like tutoring
or repairing the homes of elderly.
