New Land Management Director

The Bureau of Land Management district manager in Medford, Oregon has been appointed director of the Colorado office. Ron Wenker will head Colorado operations effective January 6th. Wenker was among five state directors appointed to fill vacancies left by retirements and resignations. He has worked for the bureau for 29 years in four states and in Washington. The agency manages 8.3 (m) million acres of public land in Colorado for recreation, mining, wildlife habitat, livestock grazing and other uses. It also oversees 27.3 (m) million subsurface acres for mineral development.
