Civil Rights Group Says Pueblo County Jail Overcrowded

A civil rights group thinks the Pueblo County jail is severely crowded and lacking in medical and mental health services. But the Colorado chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union isn't saying it plans to sue the county. Members of the group toured the jail in October. The area's chief public defender says the jail was built to hold 189 inmates but there are 556 inmates incarcerated now. A company is considering building a private prison in Pueblo County that would house state prisoners.
