A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. A 13 year-old ski racer has been killed on the slopes on Vail Mountain.
The Colorado State Patrol says Ashley Stamp of Steamboat Springs was skiing down the Golden Peak race course.
She was hit and killed by a resort snowmobile that was going up the mountain.
The teen raced last year in the Whistler Cup which is an event in the International Junior Olympics.
