Lawyers for the woman accusing Kobe Bryant of sexual assault will get their first chance to question him directly when they meet the NBA star Friday in Los Angeles.
L. Lin Wood and John Clune say they'll meet with Bryant in Orange County for a seven-hour questioning session. It will be the first time since their 20-year-old client accused the Los Angeles Lakers star of attacking her in June 2003, that Bryant will be sworn to tell the truth.
The questioning was originally scheduled for early December, but Bryant's attorneys refused to allow questions about his sexual history. They said that could violate the privacy rights of people not involved in the lawsuit.
Earlier this month, US District Judge Richard Matsch refused to limit the questions that the woman's attorneys could ask, saying he would deal with any objections later.
