A 66 year-old man is the first person to die from the Bubonic plague in 5 years.
The Pueblo County Health Department says the man died Wednesday at a hospital after being infected while rabbit hunting in Park County.
The health department has not released his name but the man's son says he's Howard Warren Champlain.
The family is still waiting for further word from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
