Effects of Drought

(Pueblo-AP) -- This year's drought has led to new watering restrictions that take effect Tuesday in Pueblo.

But those new restrictions could also result in the closure of one of the city's golf courses.

A plan is being proposed to the city council to shut down Walking Stick for the year. That's because foot traffic on the unwatered grass would do serious damage and potentially force the reseeding of several acres of grass.

No decision has been made, but the plan could have the ``Stick'' back in operation by March.

Walking Stick would lose about 55,000 dollars in revenue by closing for the winter.
