(Denver-AP) -- Qwest Communications International has again filed for permission to provide long-distance service in nine states including Colorado.
Qwest withdrew applications for Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, Wyoming and several other states on September 10th after regulators with the Federal Communications Commission expressed concern about accounting issues.
Qwest senior vice president of policy and law Steve Davis says officials believe they have addressed those concerns by creating a long-distance subsidiary called Qwest Long Distance Corporation
that is unaffected by accounting issues.
The FCC has 90 days to rule on the applications, which also include Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Utah and Washington.
