The death of several college students in the state... plus a Democratic state legislature... is giving life to a series of alcohol bills.
Similar bills to crack down on alcohol were killed swiftly in recent years because of powerful lobby groups representing the beer and liquor industries.
Now, state lawmakers are seriously considering the bills.
They include one requiring I.D. tags on all kegs sold in the state and another that toughens penalties for those who buy alcohol for minors.
