Kansas Highway Patrol officials say they clocked 23-year-old James Earl Coward Junior driving 126 miles-per-hour late yesterday afternoon on Interstate 70.
The car spun out of control when he tried to exit west of Colby about 5:45 p.m.
Authorities say the car hit a guardrail, rolled several times and ended up on its side in a ditch.
Coward reportedly ran from the crumpled car, but was soon captured nearby.
Coward was booked into the Thomas County Jail last night. He faces at least four additional charges.
