(Colorado Springs-AP) -- A charitable group in Colorado Springs is calling it quits after 110 years of fund raising.
One of the last acts of the Glen Eyrie Chapter Number eight of the Order of the Eastern Star is to donate ten-thousand dollars to each of ten fire departments that battled the Hayman Fire.
The chapter is closing because of dwindling membership.
Glen Eyrie members plan to join another chapter of Eastern Star, a national charitable and social group affiliated with the Masons. The Glen Eyrie Chapter has nearly 500-thousand dollars to dispose of before it is dissolved.
Most of the money will go to Masonic organizations, but members also wanted to give some of it to the departments that battled the 137,000 acre wildfire.
