A storm system will begin to impact Southern Colorado by late this morning. Mountain locations will simply see snow, but lower elevations will see rain eventually change to snow by later this afternoon. Locations higher in elevation will see the heaviest snow, due to colder temperatures. So then, Teller County, far northwest El Paso County, and the Wet & Sangre de Cristo Mountains will likely see several inches of wet snow. The major cities will see far less snow and the storm will exit toward early Saturday morning.
Three men who allegedly tried to extort $3 million from a Denver Nuggets star are behind bars in New York, and Carmelo Anthony couldn't be happier.
New York police say the suspects tried to get Anthony to pay for a videotape which allegedly showed him being involved in a fight.
An undercover officer posing as Anthony's representative handed over a check in exchange for the tape Tuesday night, and police arrested the trio near Central Park.
Authorities say 29-year-old Joubert Santos, 26-year-old Jason Pabon, and 36-year-old Rodrigo Sanchez face charges of grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.
Anthony acknowledged he's been worried about the scheme, saying it was "a lot to handle." Anthony's agent, Calvin Andrews, issued a statement calling the suspects "ill-intentioned," saying they were "trying to cash in" on the taped altercation.
Andrews says the suspects demanded money for the tape even though they had "absolutely nothing to do" with the incident. But Anthony refused to give in to their demands, and turned the case over to authorities instead.
