Fort Carson said farewell Thursday to more troops who are scheduled to head overseas in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The 68th Corps Support Battalion will head to Kuwait starting next Friday and their deployments will continue through December.
The soldiers will play a supporting role in the war. They will provide fuel, maintenance support, and equipment repair to troops that are on the front lines.
They're also going to serve as active combat troops, if needed. They've been trained on how to use some of the Army's most powerful combat weapons.
And they say they're ready for the challenge. "Of course, bullets flying here and there, you're going to be a little worried, but I have a job to do and that's what I'm going to do," said SSG Corey Bernard.
About 500 soldiers are involved with this deployment and they could be gone for a year or more.
