Roads are icy in spots that saw accumulating snow yesterday. Allow yourself plenty of extra time this morning and dress warmly, as wind chills are in the single digits and teens for many. A second disturbance will bring another round of snow showers to the Front Range this afternoon and early evening. While not as heavy as yesterday, some additional light accumulations over the higher terrain will be possible, including Teller and Northern El Paso Counties. Highs in the 30s and 40s will feel colder when factoring a blustery northwest wind. Click on the 'Weather' tab for more...
Would you pay a toll to go through the Eisenhower Tunnel?
The toll is one of the funding options for state officials studying ways to ease congestion on Interstate 70. They expect the number of vehicles traveling through the tunnel to jump by ten million between now and 2025.
State transportation officials have come with nine different ways to ease traffic congestion, most of them calling for widening the highway.
Every one calls for a third hole at the tunnel.
Officials say without improvements, the recreation and tourism industry in a nine-county mountain area could drop as much as ten billion dollars by 2035.
The nine counties include Clear Creek, Eagle, Garfield, Gilpin, Grand, Lake, Park, Pitkin and Summit counties.
