More snow in the high country is helping to boost spirits among skiers. On Friday, Keystone and Breckenridge opened for the season.
And this year, Keystone is adding a special "twist." The resort is running non-stop for the first 36 hours---finally closing at 8 p.m. on Saturday. Resort officials say this is the first year Keystone has opened with a 36-hour celebration, which will take place on and off the mountain. The resort received seven inches of new snow Thursday. More snow showers are expected this weekend.
Keystone is also offering skiers $36 lift tickets that are good throughout the opening, plus $36 lodging deals. This is also the earliest the resort has given ski enthusiasts a sneak preview of Keystone's night skiing and riding -- which officially gets under way December 18th.
