A second disturbance will bring another round of snow showers to the Front Range this afternoon and early evening. While not as heavy as yesterday, some additional light accumulations over the higher terrain will be possible, including Teller and Northern El Paso Counties. Highs in the 30s and 40s will feel colder when factoring a blustery northwest wind. Click on the 'Weather' tab for more...
Despite long having a reputation as being a hotbed of Christian conservatism and "moral values," statistics seem to indicate Colorado Springs is surprisingly secular.
According to the American Religion Data Archive, a clearinghouse of religion membership surveys at Pennsylvania State University, only about 37 percent of El Paso County's 516,000 residents belong to a religious group, sect, or denomination.
That percentage is lower than the country as a whole, which has about a 50 percent adherence rate.
The numbers aren't bad news for groups such as the influential conservative Christian group Focus on the Family, which is headquartered in Colorado Springs.
Many evangelistic preachers, say the numbers present opportunities to spread the word.
