Broncos Ticket Prices

(Denver-AP) -- The state Court of Appeals has rejected a challenge over Denver Broncos ticket prices.

The court ruled today that a decision to raise prices did not violate prior agreements.

Robert Heidrick and Mike M.-Kanderis filed a class-action lawsuit on behalf of season ticket holders from 1984 to 1999. They appealed a lower-court decision that came down in favor of the team's owners.

The Broncos told season ticket holders during a campaign to build a new stadium that ticket prices would remain below the National Football League average and would remain constant in terms of 1974 dollars.

The lawsuit claimed breach of contract and unjust enrichment based on a 1977 contract. It claimed team owners failed to get advance approval from the mayor for ticket price increases that exceeded either the lowest or the average ticket prices for comparable facilities.
