A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. Several inches of accumulation will be possible in areas where these bands develop. For more information click the ‘Weather’ tab...
An incident in Pueblo early Friday leaves one man dead, and an officer on administrative leave.
Around 2 a.m. Friday, police received a call from a driver on his cell phone. He said another vehicle was following him, and that person had a gun.
When officers caught up to them, the suspect took off and led police on a short chase. It ended near the intersection of Sitter Place and Prairie Avenue---on Pueblo's south side.
Officers say that's when the suspect rammed his vehicle into a squad car. Another officer then used his car to stop the suspect. And when ordered to come out of his vehicle, investigators say the man had a gun, so one of the officers shot and killed him.
Pueblo police are still investigating this incident and have not released the names of those involved. The officer is now on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
