Hearing Delayed

Updated: Mon 4:21 PM, Sep 23, 2002

(Seattle-AP) -- A court hearing has been delayed for an American Muslim charged with trying to set up a terrorist training camp in
Oregon.

The hearing to determine whether James Ujaama should continue to be held in federal custody while awaiting trial was rescheduled to October first.

The reason for the delay is not immediately clear.

Authorities arrested Ujaama in Denver on July 22nd. He had just moved to Colorado from Seattle.

Ujaama was held as a material witness until August 29th when a grand jury in Seattle indicted him on one count of conspiracy to provide material support and resources for the al-Qaida terrorist network, and another count of using, carrying, possessing and discharging firearms during a crime.
