The new commander of Fort Carson says he'll make quality-of-life issues, tough training and modernization of the Seventh Infantry Division his top priorities at the Army post.

Major General Robert Wilson took command of the Seventh Infantry Division at a ceremony Tuesday.

Fort Carson was among the first military bases nationwide where a private company handled housing.

A North Carolina-based company is building 840 housing units and remodeling more than 1,800 units.

Wilson's other priorities include keeping Fort Carson a training center and launching pad for thousands of deploying Reserve troops.
